Ya’ GOTTA love a movie that’s got James Best (before he was Roscoe P. Coltrane), Ken Curtis (before he was Festus Hagen) and about ten coon hounds with carpet remnants draped over them! This is one of those films that scared the living CRAP outta me when I was a kid. Sure it’s laughable now, but when you’re eight years old and watching it at 2:00 AM, every shadow becomes A KILLER SHREW!!! I’ve got to admit that even now, fifty years later, that weird chirping/growling sound the shrews make, makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
